Natalia Engelhardt is a Russian born artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Her ceramic work is focused on creating one of a kind sculptural objects. Each piece is hand built using traditional techniques such as coiling and then hand sculpted to refine a piece further, then glazed, and fired to 2232F. Her practice is inspired by shapes and textures found in the natural world. Her focus is on creating more of a textural or painterly surface and always finding the beauty in imperfection and elegance in awkwardness.
